Clip Joint Hairdressing is a well established centrally located hair salon with beauty room in Dunedin, New Zealand. We offer a full range of hairdressing services and welcome a variety of clientele in the salon and cater for facial waxing, tinting, eyelash lifts and eye brow lamination in our beauty room. We can schedule your beauty treatments in and around your hair appointments so ask your stylist how we can make this work for you. 

We have been running as an eco salon since 2015 and are the first certified climate/carbon neutral hair salon in Dunedin and are proud to be into our seventh year running at this level. 

We are 99.9% vegan in the salon and beauty room so we have products available to cater to our vegan clientele, be sure to ask your stylist/beautician which products are right for you. 

We have created a nice clean atmosphere for our clients and are very aware of being kind to the environment where ever we can and ensure 100% of our products are cruelty free and 99.9% vegan. Our biggest salon waste is our colouring aids, we use paper not foil which is 100% biodegradable and can be reused 3-4 times (washing them in the machine with our towels in between) before it completely breaks down. We also use Keune foil (made from 97% recycled aluminium) which we then recycle along with colour tubes at our local scrap metal dealer. Plastic, glass, paper and cardboard goes out for recycling fortnightly and our hair cuttings are composted through a local compost loving Dunedin resident.

We are part of the Oway family, using their colour and product on clients in salon and for take home. Oway is a family owned company, their colours and products are 100% peta certified, 99% plastic free and 99% vegan. The ingredients are grown and harvested on the Oway farm in Italy and are organic or biodynamic and if not are fair trade and ethically sourced. Everything is used during the making of their colour and products, so there is no production waste. Their packaging is glass and aluminium, their colour is vibrant, long lasting and give's 100% grey coverage and their products are paraben and sulfate free.

We run an in salon refill station for shampoo, conditioner and mask offering up to 20% off when you refill. Recently added to our refill station are body wash, dishwashing liquid, laundry powder and handwash from the company ecostore. we are also able to recycle the 5l size containers we receive the products in back through the company. While we have a loyal clientele but we welcome new clients so appointments aren't always necessary and we offer complimentary fringe trims in between appointments for regular clients and complimentary 15 minute consultation's to discuss your hair wants and needs.

 Cancellation policy 

Over the past few months we have had more movement within our book than ever before. While we understand these are uncertain times we are needing to introduce a cancellation policy. 

We value every single one of our clients and always do our best to find a suitable time for you all to come in. Last minute cancellations or no shows make it hard for us to organise for someone on our cancellation list to take that space. 

We do understand that illness and other emergencies can pop up and will be out of any of our control. We ask that where possible you give us 48 hours notice of cancellation or the need to reschedule an appointment. 

If you are unwell, are within your covid isolation time or have covid symptoms we ask that you let us know so we can reschedule your appointment. Cancellation fees will not apply in these cases. 

If we haven't received 24 hours notice of needing to cancel or reschedule an appointment we will need to charge 50% of the service price.

If we have a client no show we will require full payment for that service as we will have been unable to fill that appointment time.
